District council elections, May 2010
We are now looking for people who would be prepared to talk to residents on our behalf, in the run-up to the elections.
If you, or some-one you know, are interested in learning more about what’s involved, please contact David Linnell by email or on 020 8508 2932.
Town Council budget. The 2010-11 rise in the Town Council precept will be held to just under 1%, while maintaining the reserves at 70%, and without losing or cutting any programmes or proposed activities. This equates to a Band D increase of 46p per year. LRA councillors form the majority on the Town Council, and we are proud of their management of the Town Council's financial resources.
“Dog bins”.
The District Council no longer install dog bins, as dog mess can now be put in normal waste bins (wrapped).
Conservation Area Character Appraisals
- The final version of the Bell Common Conservation Area Character Appraisal has been published by Epping Forest District Council. Bell Common Conservation Area was first designated in 1985 and encompasses the open green space of Bell Common (Epping) as well as all the buildings which surround it. The purpose of a character appraisal is to define the character of the conservation area, review its boundaries and highlight any parts of it that may be in need of improvement. View the appraisal on the Conservation pages of the Council’s website.
The Council is currently working on character appraisals for the conservation areas within Loughton which are due to be available for public consultation in the near future.
