Loughton Pool

parking. From April, parking charges in the Traps Hill car park will start at 8.30am instead of 8am, thus allowing early-morning swim and gym users to use the leisure centre for a little longer without paying for parking. LRA Cllr Rose Brookes and others have been pressing for this after comments at the Loughton Leisure Centre Customer Forum last June
- poolside drinking water fountain: Rose has also been asking for one for some time, and has now been assured it will happen this year
- Tuesday lunchtime Hydrotherapy Sessions: these have ceased, and Rose is trying to find a replacement physio
- cleaning issues: Rose has made many representations to the pool managers about cleaning problems, particularly about the pool changing area. This month they have started a new regime. Lifeguards will still do some cleaning when not on pool-watch, but there will also be cleaners to clean the poolside area - we hope this will lead to a rise in standards
- boiler problem: on Wednesday this week the pool was closed due to a boiler problem, and Rose has been chasing up action on repairs.
