Village greens
How you can help: LRA’s Town Councillors are trying to get 6 green spaces declared “village greens”, which should give them much more protection.
To do this, we need evidence from YOU.
The questions may seem odd, but they’re what we need to know in order to meet the conditions for registering a green space as a village green.
For each green space you know about,
(it’s fine if you only do one site, but if you know about any of the others, do them too!)
The green spaces are
A. Part of the open space between Jessel Drive and Goldingham Avenue opposite the Cottage Loaf [form]
B. Land at the corner of Rectory Lane and Newmans Lane including the playground Loaf [form]
C. Most of the green area between Westall Road and Rochford Green
Loaf [form]
D. Wooded site between Oakwood Hill estate and Chigwell Lane, currently part of the nature reserve Loaf [form]
E. The green area in front of the old Bus Garage (Church Hill near the Rectory Lane corner, opposite Homebase and in front of Maple Gate) Loaf [form]
F. Rookwood Green – that is, the “D-shaped green between Rookwood Gardens and Rookwood Avenue. [form]
Do you have any old photos of children playing, families picnicking etc that we could borrow, copy and return to you?
If so, please let us know - email contact@loughtonresidents.co.uk or ring me on 020 8508 2932.
Thank you.
