Loughton Brook Reserve

LRA has worked over the last few years to improve the area surrounding Loughton Brook, along Roding Road. Between Alderton Hill and just before Roding Gardens had become an eyesore: overgrown with brambles, full of litter, surrounded by broken fences. The LRA Roding team has organised working parties of volunteers to clear some of the overgrown areas.

Feasibility Study

Following this we successfully applied for Lottery Funding to engage a landscape design company to produce a feasibility study for the area. We wanted to know what sort of things were possible, and how much it might cost to enhance and maintain the area. After consultations with the public through newsletters, a public meeting and the involvement of students from Roding Valley High School the feasibility study was completed.

Design and future control

The next stage is to find someone to finalise a design and project-manage the improvements.

Once the final improvements have been completed Loughton Town Council have agreed in principal to adopt the land under licence from its current owners so that it can be maintained.
