Loughton Soundscape

Loughton Soundscape is a compilation of stories, poems, opinions, memories, music and sounds recorded in Loughton over a period of six months in 1999/2000. It was designed and produced by Sheila Shillitto, as LRA's millennium celebration project: 'A community has many constituents, each contributing to a sense of local identity. Loughton people in their environment have provided the inspiration. My intention is to communicate an awareness of their lives here, now, to share their thoughts and for their voices to be heard by others who will walk where we walked.'

The recording is intended to be heard whilst on a walk through the town. The CDs and tapes are available on free loan from Loughton library together with a map.
